Since its founding, The Eisner Foundation has undertaken several major initiatives in addition to its competitive grantmaking. These innovative programs exemplify special interests in the health, education and well-being of children and families in Southern California and beyond. The Eisner Foundation’s special initiatives include:
The Aspen Institute’s Arts Committee, chaired by Michael Eisner, works with The Eisner Foundation to advance arts programming nationwide and to increase the role of arts in all aspects of America’s culture.
Eisner Health (formerly The Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center), headquartered in downtown Los Angeles, is a quality-focused, community health center that offers comprehensive services including prenatal care; medical care for infants, children and adolescents; a women’s health center; adult medical, dental and mental health care; and a child development center at 11 sites across the county.
Keewaydin camp in Vermont has been attended by multiple generations of Eisners, including Michael, and with scholarships from The Eisner Foundation students from GOALS in Anaheim have enjoyed the same summer pastime for over a decade.
Michael Eisner is a member of the Denison University Class of 1964 and a Life Trustee of the college. In 2017, The Eisner Foundation granted the university more than $5 million to build a new performing arts building, which will be named The Michael D. Eisner Center for Performing Arts.
