Connecting Generations for Good

Grant Spotlight: Venice Family Clinic

November 28, 2017

To serve their low-income patients, Venice Family Clinic relies on volunteer physicians, who are often retired from their own medical practices. But the complexity of the clinic’s digital medical records were an obstacle to keeping them – until they paired these physicians with volunteer scribes interested in a career in medicine. These intergenerational pairs learn from each other as they serve the community. As a result, everyone benefits: the physicians, the scribes, the clinic, and the patients.
